Confucianism is a traditional chinese philosophy. Confuciaous, creator of Confucianism had ideas of teachings to follow emphasizing ethical behavior for people and governments. His teaching was mainly Ren & Li: Ren-concern for others and Li-appropriate. This was created 1500 years before Song dynasty. For a while his teachings were not so well known. And after his death his followers spread his ideas. Qin dynasty tried to keep people from learning it, teaching it so they kind of hid from society. But the Han dynasty accepted it and declared it the official philosophy of China. When Buddhism became popular though, it came to confucianisms decrease in popularity. The differences from Confuciansim and Buddhism is that confuciansim focuses more on ethical behavior individually and in society. Buddhism although is more spiritually incorperated. It is supposed to give people spiritual outlooks on the promised escape from suffering.

The segmental arch bridge which is known as the Zhao zhou arch bridge. It was finish in 605(581-618) by Li Chun. The bridge is 37.5 mm(123 ft)
and the structure is extremely light because of the four semi-circular arch sprandels which alow water to flow through. it took 11 years to built this bridge. The designer Li Chun built the zhaozhou south of beijing with stone archmade of massive limestone wedges reinforced with iron. Many other chinese bridges were influenced by the way the zhaozhou bridge was designed.

The Song Dynasty rose in 960 and it lasted for 300 years. The capital of the Song or Sung Dynasty was Kaifeng on the yellow river and the song ruled a large area for 170 years.

The system of goverment in china was called china's civil service. The civil service expanded to many its highest point in the song dynasty(960-1279). public schools were opened throughout the country to help the talent but indigent. Almost all the song officials in the higher levelz of bureaucracy were recruited if they earn a jinshi degree. after 1065 they were held every three years, but only for the people who passed and earned the jinshi degree.This service gave the chinese empire power for more than 2,000 years. the system was finally destroyed in 1905 by the quing dynasty. The whole chinese civil service as it had previously existed was overthrown along with the dynasty in 1911/12.

What happened was that the mongols had always been kind of, disorganized. Instead of one society they lived in seperate tribes. Ghengis Khan took rule and united the tribes and made them into a powerful army. In 1211 he led them into a series of battles in most of Northern China. The Mongols were known and remembered for their ruthlessness and brutality. The would barge into villages and nock houses down. Burn the whole village and take the people, mostly women and children, and kill them. After about 20 years of this, he came to rule most of Asia. By 1227, Ghengis Khan's death, a huge amount of china was under Mongol rule. Kublai Khan, Ghengis' grandson declared himself emperor of China and continued the conquests and invasions. With this, the Yuan dynasty began.

Marco Polo was a man that was born in Venice italy in the year 1254. he had an education of many different skills. his father Nicolo and his uncle Maffeo began their first eastern journey in 1260. they visited constanople and made thier way to the great kublai khan, ruler of china. the emperor was impressed with polos background. the pope and the ambassadors with a message of peace, and was interested in making some parts christian.
they stayed in Venice for about 2 years and then took the deal. On this journey they took 17 year old marco polo along. After three years of traveling they appeared before the emperor china had many fassinating things. art, both fine and pratical beyond anything found inn europe upon his findings of jade, porclain, silk, ivory and other riches of Asia, Unfortunately his stories were declined by the emperor. He didn't tell him about tea,foot binding, or even the great wall of china . Near is death a priest came inside his room and asked him if he wanted to admit his stories were false, marco replied saying he not telling half of what he saw because no one would believe him.

Kublai Khan a mongolian leader who made a change in the chinese culture. Many kings before kublai were deafeated badly and brutally land hungry. Kublai Khan was the grandson of Genghis Khan. The son of Toluia and Sorghaghtani. Kublai's mother didn't just raise him and his three 3 brothers, after there fathers death she was responsible to get the throne after losing it to Toluia's brother. When the eldest son mongke had the throne Kublai showed his military strength and was given great responsibilities.when Monkge died th throne was give to kublai, but Boki the youngest son challenged Kublai for the throne. Kublai won the challenged he cut the supplies to the southern empire. Kublai as called ' The Great Khan' in the north in 1260 kublai's Khan transformation from conqueror to ruled led many developments in the chinese culture. Under his order the winter capitol was moved from mongolian territory to the chinese city of dadu( which in modern day beijing). The death of Kublai Khan was because he was overturned by his mongolian advisors,they were offended by the movement of the capitol. So at the age of 79 Kublai became obese,drunkard,and died.
